In Canvas Studio, the Reflector element turns any surface into a real-time mirror that captures and displays its surroundings. It’s perfect for glossy floors, calm water, showroom stages, or stylized portals. Because planar reflections require additional off-screen rendering, the element exposes a few quality-versus-performance dials in the backend, while a simple color tint is can be set directly on the element in the frontend.
Quality Preset – chooses an overall reflection-quality profile (Auto, Low, Medium, High); higher presets increase resolution and sampling, improving sharpness at the cost of GPU time.
Clip Bias – shifts the reflection camera’s clipping plane by a small amount to suppress z-fighting and edge artifacts where the mirror meets geometry.
Recursion – sets how many times reflections can reflect one another (0 = single bounce); higher values create hall-of-mirrors effects but quickly multiply render cost.
Reflector Color – a front-end tint that multiplies the mirror’s output; use white for a perfect mirror, softer hues for tinted glass or stylized chrome.
With these controls you can tailor reflections to match both artistic intent and hardware limits: dialing in crisp showroom mirrors for high-end rigs or lightweight glossy surfaces for mobile. Remember: the tint lives on the element itself, so adjust Reflector Color from the frontend while leaving the backend settings to manage performance.
